Babywearing meeting - Aug
There are a couple of things I'd like some help with, please, at this month's babywearing meeting. Zia is getting too heavy for the stretchy wrap I've been using for front carries, so I've got a non-stretchy cotton wrap (about 4m long and 50 cm wide) and have been trying out other positions:
- Hip carries - I can't seem to get this right. Zia wriggles to the point where she's almost falling out.
- Back carries - I've tried this once at home, but I think I need some advice before I try experimenting! I'm very nervous about dropping her from this position.
Would something other than a long wrap be better? If anyone has something better I could try, please could you bring it? I'd like to stick with SPOCs, though - no time for sewing!
Thanks,
Caroline

I am very interested in coming to this meeting as well. I sewed a pouch for my 3 week old son and I think the fabric was too long, as it doesn't seem to fit properly.....maybe I should just buy one, but I thought this would be good to try first.
What time is the meeting at?
Looking forward to it!

I got a message from Shawna that Jill is going to take over from her this month. The meeting will be at the same location and time

Good thing the pouch is too big, not too small. You can alter it to make it sized right for you. Check out this link: http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/tubesling.html

I haven't been to one in ages, so I forget most of the details. Is it still at Babeeze In Arms? (address?) Day and Time?
Thanks.

I really wish I could go to these meetings, but I'm always working when you meet. I just bought a EllaRoo Mei Tei for my 2 year old, so I can carry her on my back, but need help with other positions. I've been using a ring sling I bought locally since she was 3 months old, but it wasn't supportive enough to put her on my back.
Oh well, maybe I'll take a vacation day for the next meeting.

Are you free on any weekdays?
I frequently go to several parks around town (typically Gibbons and Doidge) during the week, and would be happy to help you out there. Timings are usually from early afternoon to early evening.

Are there carrier samples at the meetings? I'd like to start, but don't know which/what to get.
Can I come with out a baby carrier?

Yup! You can even come without a baby - I was still prego with Jack when I went to my first one! If there's a particular style you are interested in I would PM bikruca or Siana - I'm sure between them they would be able to come up with one for you to try.
