Default Just finished my Christmas shopping!

    OH YEAH! It feels great.

I have bought all the kids in my life their Christmas presents. (my kids, my nephew, and my husbands little brother and sister)

And, I just made and ordered 4 picture Calendars on Shutterfly for all the Grandparents.

    And, I'm done.

If anyone has a problem that we are spending less this year they will hear a piece of my mind.

We bought a $300.00 freaking remote for my husbands dad last year, and he has yet to use it. We are done buying useless presents because we feel we NEED to.

    End of post

Way to GO! I'm so jealous. I've off to a great start myself but finished? No.

The family has made a 'rule' that we are only buying for the kids this year. We are the only ones with 'kids', so that's kinda weird. Not sure how it's all going to pan out. I have a lot of birthdays to go for as well. We have a lot of ideas and I've been buying little things here and there, but every year we're scrambling.

And, I hate scrambling. I hate the few weeks before Christmas when we are all stressed about what we are going to buy, and the money we have to spend.

It makes me stress about Christmas, and I HATE that because I love Christmas.

So I decided to do it differently this year.

I'll let you know in January how people took it, but really I won't care in January, or even a day after Christmas? Because the season will be done, and I won't have stressed the whole time.

We have also let everyone know in advance that we are doing this... so they don't feel compelled to buy us anything or just something little.

I'm hoping to avoid the scramble but it never fails having 5 kids means that my tree always looks so full but when you divide it all up

I have started and have an outfit for Brooklyn and one for Noah. A shirt for Braxton. still a ways to go.

congrats to you Carters'Mom. What a great feeling

I'm almost done shopping. I still have to buy for my parents, and will be getting a gift for my best friend's daughter, as it is her first Christmas. Unfortunately I can not stop buying for my own dd's! There is always something I think they'd like!

With 5 kids you should start in January and buy a couple things a month? Much easier said than done though!

we are done for noah already... Just have his stocking left, which i will leave until december anyways. My 2 stepsons, we have one bigger gift and taking them shopping for clothes or getting them a gift card, everyone else is just money or gift cards.. We dont buy anything for each other... so we really dont have much shopping left. I hate going to the malls once december hits... so i stay away

Wow that is awesome! I just do custom calenders now too for our families. We don't buy for adults anymore (hence my kid getting spoiled). I am waiting for the toy sale at the Fair Grounds to buy my DD's Christmas and Birthday gifts.

Good for you! I have done a large chunk of my shopping as well. I am not one who likes to wait until last minute for anything but most especially Christmas shopping. Nor am I one who likes busy crowds, so getting it done early works well for me Plus I am more apt to actually be able to find the things I need/looking for, where as if I leave it until the end, the chances of a certain item being sold out are much higher.
I think Christmas shouldn't be about spending all kinds of money and getting the best of this that or everything else but spending time with family and friends and it being about the kids so I think the way you've done things this year is awesome. I cannot stand when you fork out a tonne of money and put a lot of thought into a certain gift and give it to someone and they don't even use the thing you spent so much money on! Have had this same thing happen to us too, so I hear you on that one.
