Unhappy How do you stay strong....? Update post 18

I am sitting here listening to BOTH my girls cough. Kiana isnt as bad as Alysa but gosh Alysa sounds like she is drowning there is so much mucus in there.
I took a peak at it when she had it in her mouth (sorry TMI) as I was trying to get her to spit it out and it was all green
I talked to her team yesterday adn they have her on antibiotics until they can squeeze her in two weeks early and be seen this wednesday.

I am terrified it will be another hospitalization. Her respirologist said that "she may just be one of those children who require an admission every 6 months" and if that is true then she is due.... NOW!

How do you stay strong for your children when all you want to do is lay in bed cuddling them and cry because you feel so helpless?
Gosh I can not even imagine trying to go through this (ie: a hospitalization) when DH is away for 6 months for RCMP depot (assuming he gets in of course).

BIG HUGS, I can't say that I understand what you are going through, but since you helped me out quite a bit when our son was going through testing, if you ever need company or just someone to chat with, please pm me and I can give you my number. If there is a hospitalization, I would be more than willing to come visit you and go for coffee or something (let's hope that we can go for coffee at a Tim's that is NOT in CHWO)

Although you may feel like you're in a down moment...you are very strong and a great advocate for your girls! I know all too well that feeling of wanting to just snuggle them and wishing their troubles away! I hope A is not due for another hospital visit. It would be super hard, especially if you have to go that road alone. If/when DH gets into training, will you be able to have family help out? I'm pretty much home bound...but could be an extra computer ear if you wanted to pm me. Hugs that you're feeling stronger again and fingers crossed that A does not have to go in hospital!

Big hugs. I ment to ask you too, I have a new ventalator, (the machine you put vials of ventalin in), that thingy lol!!, it is green in color, and has ocean stickers on it, with a black travel bag. My son doesn't use it, you will need new hoses and mask. You can have it, I know they are a bit expensive, but it is just collecting dust, and you can use it as a back up. Let me know, as I will be in London on September 29th, I can drop it by.

Good idea, anything to stop it from getting worse! I spoke with our ped's office and will be bringing DS in at the first signs of a flu. They know that and support the decision, which makes it easier knowing I have a plan. In the recent past we've started antibiotics before a chest infection/pneumonia really got settled just to be sure he didn't get too sick. I hope Lilia remains healthy enough to stay home!

Thank you, we are still months away (I think) from knowing if DH is going away for 6 months but if he does I do have his family here to help but his mom is in school now and before that she wasnt working so we could leave a child with her (or have them in daycare). We havent had a hospital stay since baby A was born so that could be interesting.

I probably sound like a spaz or something but every time they get a lung infection (ie: pneumonia) I get a little paranoid and stuff because I know that most CF patients end up dying for lung infections

Stay strong mama. As parents we stay strong because we have too. Our little ones need and depend on us and if we are not there to advocate, care and cuddle them who will. We all have our down moments and certainly are entitled. When I have a down moment I just think to myself DS and DD need me, what can I do to help?
Big {{hugs}} to you and this will pass.
