Thanks. This past week would be “perfect“ only if they would sleep. It has been past midnight every night before Daegan is quiet, not necessarily sleeping, but quiet; and Taylor, she just lies in her bed awake, knowing not to “bother“ me. We are up at 7am for a full busy day.

That is great they're doing so well at camp, perhaps it is the excitement of the camp that is keeping them up later? Hopefully they can catch up on their rest.

She read the word “chocolate“! We went out for ice cream after supper and I asked her what kind she wanted. She just stood there. I asked if she wanted her sugar free butterscotch ice cream. She tells me “no“. So, I ask again, what kind do you want. She points to the sign that says “chocolate peanut butter“ and says “chocolate“. Mummy I want chocolate. I am over the moon right now, I had no idea she could do that. I asked if she wanted the chocolate peanut butter she was pointing at or just plain chocolate. She wanted just plain chocolate. She didn't even see the ice cream, just the sign. Woohoo

DD went on a playdate today. Without me there. Somewhere beyond the neighbour's house.
I felt sick to my stomach the whole time, but it was a success. They played on the trampoline and played toys and had a snack. Yay!

Woo hoo for all of the recent successes!
We had a MAJOR breakthrough this week. With the buses being first delayed, and then cancelled on Monday. DS was the only one in his class at school. His teacher asked me if i wanted her to try to trim his hair. Keep in mind we have always let it grow for about 6 months, and then buzz it all off and start again with the 6 month grow out. He does NOT enjoy this and neither do we, but it has been our only option.
Anyway. I said - half jokingly because I knew how he would react - SURE! GO FOR IT! Well, DS came home with his bangs and sides trimmed! But, he wouldn't let her go back and fix it up, so it's a little shaggy still.
But wait. It gets better. His respite worker saw it tonight and asked if we wanted her to try taking him to her friend that's a stylist. Again, we said SURE. GO FOR IT! Well....
DS came home with THE cutest haircut tonight! He climbed up in to the chair by himself. He let them put on the cape. He sat with his head down most of the time, but he signed thank you and said BYE when he was done! OMGosh!
She is going to take him back on Saturday just to visit... to see what his reaction will be with having to go back. We figure do this and let him see it is still safe. WOO HOO! 3 months shy of 10 years old and he gets his first real haircut!
