    With older kids, I've made ornaments with styrofoam balls, sequins and the shorter straight pins. You stick each sequin on with a pin, it looks really cool when it's all covered, but takes a few sessions (so is great to occupy time too!). Some kids just did two or three lines of flower sequins or if it's larger ball you can write Merry Xmas etc., and then did glue and sparkles on the rest. Then just take a long pin and string through a nice ribbon to hang it, probably somewhere up higher if you have small kiddos! You could use different kinds of beads and buttons too, as long as the hole in them is small enough to stay with a straight pin (with the tiny metal end).

    We did this today with your recipe and we used food colouring.

    Three busy boys and one lovely little lady!

    Wow the colours turned out great! Thank's for posting a picture ....I think I may just try food colouring the next time I make ornaments

    i have just read this now! this sounds like something that we should be doing every year!!

    im going to save it and maybe try in the 1st week of dec so we can put them up on the tree!
