    Default Ultrasound at Parkwood?

Has anyone had their 18-20 week ultrasound at Parkwood? My appointment is tomorrow. We would like to find out the gender and we're curious if they'll tell us during our appointment or if we'll have to wait until our next prenatal appointment which is another month away.

    Any info will be helpful!

I had my u/s at Parkwood but didn't want to know the gender so specifically said please don't tell me. She didn't mention whether or not she would have though. Sorry, not much help!

I have heard (probably from here) that they will tell you the gender.

I had mine there & had a very experienced tech. She had no doubt it was another girl & even showed me her legs splayed open just to confirm it (we were SURE we were having a boy, lol). She did say there weren't allowed to say though.
    Good luck!

I had one there and they did not tell me anything, IIRC (which I might not - so maybe just ignore this ).

I didn't have mine there but the tech that I had at the hospital told me that they are not supposed to tell you but it really it up to them. She said that if she felt like the parents were only there to find out the sex of the baby she wouldn't tell them. The appointment is meant to make sure the baby is doing good, SOO if you want to know make sure not to be overly concerned with it. Good luck and hopefully you find out the sex

    Thanks everyone!

The ultrasound went really well today. The tech was able to get some really clear shots making for easy measuring.

She told me that she wasn't allowed by law to tell me the gender. I asked if she would show me the screen and she nodded “yes“. I got to see the screen and it was obvious. I was still looking at the screen when she typed what we're having.

    We're having a boy!

Congrats on the boy. we were told at 19 weeks we were having an girl and she was wrong. We found out at 36 weeks it is 100% boy. My midwife says there is a 20% error rate for seeing girls but they are 99% right for boys. I wish someone had told us that sooner. You were told boy so that is great. I glad that the tech told you. Waiting would be a killer.

We're having our u/s at Parkwood tomorrow, and I really, really hope that the tech will tell us or at least indicate in some way what the gender is! Thanks to those who offered tips- I won't go in only asking to find out the gender!

My DD is 18 months now and I had 2 u/s at Parkwood (had to have 5 in total because I had an uncooperative kid). There was a Ursula that worked there when I went and she told me the gender. She was excellent. I didn't know that they couldn't tell you by law. Is that something recent or has it always been that way? If you really want to know you can pay something like $25 and go to the 3D u/s place in London and find out. They have a package just to find out the gender. Good luck! I hope your little one isn't shy!

Hopefully I get Ursula! I have a friend who is a radiation tech. at LHSC, and she said that Ursula is her friend... so maybe if I mention my friend's name to her I'll have a better result??? DH tells me to not get my hopes up and that they are not supposed to tell us by law. Sigh. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

I lied about the gender package - I guess it is $100 now. Sorry.
