Permanent Disability - OSAP
When DH went to Fanshawe in 2007, he didn't yet have a diagnosis. He does now.
We're in the process of applying for OSAP, as he's going to UWO in September. They are requesting supporting documentation (medical certificate, LD assessment completed by a qualified practitioner) before they reassess his disability status for financial purposes.
I know ADHD is NOT a learning disability. But surely there is some consideration made financially for these students, right? Or not?
Anyone know?

I would contact the financial services office at the school and ask them.

But those people always have permanently embedded sticks in their private parts.

They are cool at Huron, well it's one person. Not sure about at main but hopefully!!!! Often you can get a bursary for financial need, I know I've gotten one two years in a row.

That's good to hear! In the states, I swear. Those people were the Human Resources cast-offs. I had several conversations with them through clenched teeth.
I'll have B give them a shout.

I'm not sure about financial support, but they are likely to get accommodations, academic support through Student Services. Like others above said, call.

The ones I've talked to on main campus were good.

I was approved as having a permanent disability b/c of a wrist problem, I have very limited ROM in my right wrist and I'm right handed, it didn't really increase my funding and I actually had to drop out b/c I was going to receive so little on funding. On the bright side though they were going to give me a new computer and the “dragon“ program or something like that so I could talk and it would type, hopefully if life ever works out and I get into school and get enough funding I will get that still.

It's frustrating, isn't it? The extra funding would go to ensure that he wouldn't have to over-exert himself (having to work extra hours) to stay in school. When he does too much his stress response is to over-sleep, and it really throws off all aspects of life. Hard to find the right balance -- and to afford it!
