Question Subsidized dental care for children?

My DS has this awful bruised swelling on his gum. I took him to the doctor today and she told me to watch it for a week and if it doesn't get better take him to our dentist. We don't have a dentist or dental coverage and can't afford dental care
My Dr. said there is a program for kids who need dental care. Does anyone know anything about this? Is there a waitlist? Does it take ages to get approved?
DH gets coverage through school in september but I'd rather not wait on it as his gum looks pretty bad.
ETA: DH's dental coverage doesn't include DS and I unless we pay extra. ho hum.

There is a dental clinic at UWO that I have heard is a lot less.

    Schulich Dentistry at Western

ETA: It says they accept CINOT

We used it. Went in, they looked at his mouth, refered us to the childrens dental surgeon at Vic. We were in within a couple weeks I think? Maybe a month. Then surgery was a couple weeks after.

2.5 hr surgery, intibated, morphine, 2 absessed teeth removed, 6 molars crowned in stainless steel, 4 teeth filled and reconstructed. We paid $0. Nadda

Ugh... Now I'm feeling sick about the amount of money I've spent on DD's dental bills. Holy crap.
