Default RSVP dates- a little vent

If you put on your invitation an rsvp date of Aug 12, don't start calling me on the first of August to see why we haven't responded yet. I did mean to send it in before that but life happens and sometime people don't get to doing things right away. If you wanted it in by the first then you should have put the first as your rsvp date

    End of rant

You have either an eager party / event thrower or a poor planner on your hands! I find a lot of people are bad at rsvping but I wait until after the date I specified to contact people to confirm numbers. I hope whatever is planned is goign to be fun!

Haha-that's kind of funny! Someone must not have really thought out the RSVP date

It is for my DH's cousin's wedding, which we are not going to anyways for a number of different reasons. And they put Aug 12th as the rsvp date and the wedding is on the 15th, I thought it was strange but what can you do. I know that it is bothering way more than it should be it is just annoying.

Maybe it was a typo? and they really needed numbers by the 1st?
    Annoying though, I am sure!

HAHA... I am usually the person calling.... but I at least wait until a day after the RSVP!

I am ticked at the opposite right now. People NOT responding by the RSVP!!! There is a reason that was put on there and it is not an open house!!!

I do understand how you feel. They should wait until after the date they specified.

I was going to say that some people have been totally screwed over with RSVPs in the past so I can understand calling a bit before the date given.. but i find it very odd to call SO far ahead of the date given.. and that the rsvp date is SO close to the wedding..

    Sounds like a poor planner.

wait until after to start hounding people. thats annoying since it now makes it seem like YOU have done something wrong, when really, she is the one who should be embarrassed for being so eager without reason.

I'd wonder if it was a typo too. Also maybe everyone else had responded and they figured they'd call you to get a final number sooner?

I think it is was a typo but really aren't you suppose to double check things before you get the printed in bulk and send them all out to people?? I think it was also the way the message was left, they made is sound like we were very bad people for not having gotten back to them yet. Ok now officially I am letting this go!

I would have thought it was a typo and RSVP's early...but I tend to RSVP right away because I forget otherwise lol.

I didn't call people until the day after the RSVP date (for our wedding), except for a couple of people I saw the day of the RSVP date and just gave a friendly reminder as to the date lol

Usually you need to give final numbers around 2 weeks before, which would be around the 1st for that wedding... so it must have been a typo.
