Yeah, I saw that. No dice still. I'll ask the therapist when I see her what she suggests.

I don't know what it's like around here, but IMO the better SLP services are preschool. Once you hit schoolage, it's a crapshoot.

Hope you find an answer. I'll ask an SLP if I see one next week and see what they say regarding alternative services or how to get more.

I don't have any suggestions no-one else has covered but I remember how frustrating that 3 month wait was when DD wasn't talking at all, it really sucks! Hugs!

MOF I feel for you! There are days where I wonder what more we could do for DS. I am longing to the hear the words “mommy, I love you“ but for now I would be happy if he could communicate anything without becoming frustrated.

Would it be possible to have a sitter come in to watch the other kids so you could work one on one with DD? I know DH and I will take turns and separate the twins so we can spend one on one time with DS practicing the things we have learned from speech therapy, could your DH keep the other kids occupied?

The eternal question isn't it? I have no friggen idea! I joke with my daughter and try to make light of things but it is impossible... always feels like you are drowning and getting nowhere. What I try to do to preseve a small sense of sanity is to every so often look back at what has been done... yesterday, last week, last year, whate-ever... just to remind myself that yes... a shit load has been done. It works temperarily on the superficial level for me.. but then I just get mad for other reasons... at my dumb-ass ex for being totally oblivious to all my efforts, sacxrifices, and the sacrifices my daughter nust make... all in the name of caring for Daegan to the best of my ability.

I sure wish I knew the answer to that one too. It seems there have been some great suggestions, and offers to help, posted for you. We will be wading into these worries soon too I imagine. I'm not sure how much our CPRI SLP will do before we get bumped off to Tyke Talk. I have little doubts we'll need something. I hope you're successful in finding a solution that works for all of you. Are you allowed to combine the school SLP with Tyke Talk? That would give about 2 of the 3 hours and if as a family you could do some or hire someone occasionally that may work out.
