when you can't provide what they need
How does everyone cope with this? When they need more than you are able to give, physically but also if you can't afford services that would really help them or you just don't have the time/opportunity to spend one-on-one time with them.

you start making some calls to Merrymount, Vanier,CPRI, you enlist the support of fellow LM's to help with the other kids to allow you to take some time with the child who needs some one on one .
I read you other post but haven't responded there yet. I know that your DD needs more SLP but it is not covered. Do you know the cost?also, since you have seen the sessions she is getting at Tyke Talk, could you mimic them at home if you had some one on one time ?
I can commit to having your kids over for a playdate on most Saturdays if that would help.
Hugs Mofo I know it is so frustrating when things don't happen that really need to

What she said...
BUT, most importantly... you just do the best that YOU can and by doing that, you have done right by your child.
Oh, and make sure you still take time for you.
HUGS.

I've struggled with this thought for awhile MOFO. I feel awful because there isn't anything more I can offer Matthew with his problems. We had to resort to medicating him, just to cope with him!!!!
Sometimes though, you just do the best you can, and when you can do better, you do.
Sorry you're having a difficult time Hugs.

My understanding is that the SLP available through school is worse than what you get through TykeTalk, and he already poo-poo-ed TykeTalk.

Yes, you're right about that, it's not very thorough or consistent.

is he writing a report and sending it to you? (most drs do) Can you not take that to TykeTalk, and see if they will up her therapy based on that ? It would medically ness, so OHIP should cover it based on that..

He is writing a report and sending it to me. I have a re-assessment booked with TykeTalk in August so I'm going to tell them then what he said, but I think TykeTalk is already giving me everything they can. He said it's not their fault, it's administrative, but all you can get is an hour a week for 10 weeks, and then you get a 3 month break, then a re-assessment and more therapy if you need it.
