Default What should I use to get this stain out?

My children got marker all over over t.v. stand thing. I was feeling lazy yesterday and left it because it was a (so called) washable marker (although not crayola so I'm not sure I trust it! Today I decided I'd better wipe it down and the stupid stuff won't come off! I am trying Johnson Wax Professional Klean n Shine on it right now. I will be getting a magic eraser next, but I don't have any at the moment. Is there any other "miracle" product you think might work?

I am assuming it's fiberboard? It's from Ikea. I am not really sure what the finish is, but it's not like regular paint. It's not one of their super cheapy items though. It was $250 so that's like high end Ikea, practically. Thanks Geo. I may see if I have some nail polish remover in the house. I will test a little piece first.
It's some crappy dollar store marker. My mom bought them.

I used baking soda and vinegar to get Sharpie out of linoleum this week and it worked with a LOT of elbow grease. I wouldn't do nail polish remover -- tried that and it stained the surface yellow. MOF suggested rubbing alcohol, you might try that. GL!!

Alcohol works really well on ink. Use vodka and you can self medicate and work on the stain in one go.
I think i need some vodka, come to think of it...
