A day to celebrate!
DS after 19 months was discharged from neuro today. He made such amazing progress for a little guy who started with such a rough start.
We are able to access the neurologist if we need him, but no more required appointments. The risk for a seizure disorder developing is now minimal, and because of his amazing progress we will not be required to disclose any 'special needs' etc. when registering for school, or daycare.
We were worried that his brain injuries would limit him interms of his ability to play sports (contact etc) but our neurologist has said that he has no more concern about Andrew playing sports than any other child!
He will always have some minor issues, however, it may never be noticeable to the general public!
Andrew is still followed by a SLP and although he has some minor delays with verbal he is doing so well with sign that my concerns about him communicating are limited. I will continue to encourage the sign, but I fully expect him to become as verbal as any other child, maybe a little slower, but he will get there!

Great news! Congrats!!
Glad that things worked out so well for Andrew!! (you could still use it to keep him out of the dangerous sports though right?  I would!! )

Congrats it sounds like he is doing well! The brain has such an amazing ability to heal and adapt at that age.
