    Default LCD TV's

I think I'm ready to take the plunge and buy a nice TV. But I have no idea which ones are better than others. I'm looking at a 42" or a 46/47". Just wondering which ones you would recommend?

If money is no object, go for Sony.

Just a regular Sony, or the Sony Bravia? Or does it matter?

We bought a samsung plasma tv from walmart. I believe it is a 47" and it only cost us about $1000 (taxes included). We love it

I love LG but I have never had an LCD so I can't say too much about that

Like was said earlier, if money is no object, go for a Sony or a Sharp. We were going to get a Sharp TV, but then we got a great deal on a Samsung, so we went with that. (at Sears - they price match so check all the fliers; they matched a sale price the Brick had so we got our 40" Samsung for like $800 and they are even cheaper now)

Oh - and to pass on some advice we got from the sales guy when we bought the TV - unless you have a BluRay, you don't need to get a 1080P TV. HDTV is still only broadcasting in 720P (or 1080i which is the same thing) so you don't "need" to go to the very high end yet just to get HDTV. Getting a 720P TV is a lot cheaper than a 1080P!

I am in the market for one as well. Let me know if you find any deals!

Great to know about the 1080 thingy

DH and I just got an LCD and debated this 720 vs 1080. I wanted the 720 to save money, but the 1080 was only slightly more and DH wanted it in the end. He wants to eventually go up to HD and get the best picture possible so I caved. Plus, we plan on keeping this TV for a LONG time so ya never know what will eventually happen.

Keep you eyes on the flyers and online. Most places will price match for you. We even got our wall mount thrown in for free!

We just bought an LG and we love it. (Again, we would have loved to get the Sony bravia, but expensive).
