Dumb question, but if I was going to cover the plants, what would I cover them with?

A bucket, tupperware bowl, or I use those big buckets that cat litter comes in.
I had frost on my blankets this morning. My plants are cool weather plants but I am still really glad that I covered them up. I hope everyone else's little plants are doing well too.
