    Question BPA Bottle Refunds

Does anyone know if there are stores still giving refunds for bottles with BPA in them? I still have a pile of the Gerber ones, and I know Zellers isn't doing it anymore, which is where we got rid of our other ones.

If you would be so kind as to post a follow up of your results...I have a few Avent as well, that should be hitting the blue box or garbage soon, but I'm holding out hoping that someone will still take them back.

Alright ladies. I'll make a few phonecalls later today and see if I can find anyone who still takes them. Does anyone know who doesn't? That would make my list of phone calls a little shorter!

I am pretty sure stores are only taking them back if you have a recipt.

I'd say contact the manufacturer directly.

the returns via store were only as a courtesy to customers, the companies were actually responsible for the 'recall'... (as far as I know)

    good luck

They were store recalls, never manufacturer recalls, the companies were eating the cost and doing it in response to the public outcry. People called Avent during all the returns and they maintained there was nothing wrong with their bottles and no recall.

I'd like to know too. My car wouldn't start for the period of time that Zellers was accepting returns, so I missed out completely.

I called Gerber and they said that there was nothing that they could do for me, since the bottles that I have were discontinued in January of 2008 (yeah, around the time when they pulled all the bottles off the shelves) and I don't have a receipt.

Wal-Mart was of no help, the infant department manager was VERY rude and told me that I should have returned them months ago! The girl at the customer service desk asked around and although she doesn't know for sure whether or not they do it anymore, she doesn't have the codes for returns anymore, so she thinks that they don't do it anymore.

I'll keep checking ladies and I'll get back to you all!

I just called Wal-Mart head office and they told me that they aren't taking bottles back because the companies stopped taking them back. Before it was just done as a courtesy but now since the manufacturers have stopped taking them back, there aren't any stores that are taking them.
What I would like to know is what the hell are we supposed to do with these bottles? We paid money for them, and how were we supposed to know that they would be deemed "unsafe"? So what, because the companies didn't sell products that were safe for our children we lose money?
I'm not going to stop looking. I'll contact the government if I have to, to find out what we're supposed to do now.

I'd call Zellers over Walmart. Seriously. Go in, take the stuff with you and say "I heard you were still taking these back. Soooo happy Zellers vaules their customers. Walmart won't touch them!" and see what they say.

I took them back when the thing started but I got SIL's taken back a bit after with slight convincing.

I called Zellers and they said that they are no longer taking them back. I wish they were. Maybe I'll have to make a little bit of noise before someone will help me out!?!?!
