update on post 14

Both the girls have their CF clinic appts this afternoon and I am a little nervous. This will be the first one since Alysa's hospitalization in February and she has been coughing a lot lately and daycare told me yesterday she was gasping a lot during naptime and even shaking (but they didnt call me? WTH? They call for loose bowels but not for this?! anyway...) not sure if they will be able to tell us but it is also her first visit since being put on that new salt water treatment.....

Ugh I hate clinic.

They go every 3 months but sometimes if they get wonky we end up going more often (ie: Alysa was scheduled for February but because she was in the hospital at the time of her appt they just moved her to Kiana's time)

Just got back from clinic and I am so excited! Both the girls gained weight and are doing really well. Other then being tired their team saw nothing alarming except for Alysa's meds.

Dr. P almost jumped out of her seat when she saw that Alysa was put on singulair for her allergies and quickly told me that "singulair has been known to cause infections especially in the lungs so we dont recommend it for CF patients. This is something I have been trying to get the allergists to remember" (or something along those lines) and so we pulled her off those but other then that...

They are doing well! Just have to monitor their cough and stuff. Alysa was a nervous wreck as we pulled into the parking lot asking if they were going to give her pokes (bloodwork) or throat swabs and if she will have to stay there for a long time and when the next long stay will be and stuff... things I dont know but I fielded them off by telling her "if you do your machine and let Mommy and Daddy do your pat-pats every time hopefully you wont have to go back for a long stay until you are 4 or maybe 5!"

So it was a pretty good day Thanks for the luck wishes
