Default New Mom, New to London, New to London Moms

    Hi Everyone,

I just had my baby on March 31, 2007. Having been in London for almost two years, I don't know anyone else in my current situation. I'm originally from Windsor/Tecumseh area. I'm looking forward to meeting new moms and looking forward to spending my mat. leave learning and growing with my baby.

Melina is almost 6 weeks old and I can't believe how well she's growing! The best part is that she's starting to smile. However, I don't have her on a consistent "schedule" and I'm hearing many conflicting suggestions. Hopefully the forums can help!

    Cheers,
    Karen

welcome - your post sounded like mine 1.5 years ago. I've found London to be a lovely place and london MOms also a great place.

I have a 3.5 year old and a 9 month old. My parenting philosophy for babies under 3 months is... so whatever it takes to stay sane. They do not have a schedule and can not be put on one. You can not spoil them. So do whatever makes you feel good and keeps baby happy - whatevewr that means - co-sleeping - or not, breatsfeeding, or not, imposing a schedule or not, leaving baby with hubby so you can be alone and catch up on sleep - or not - whatever.

But after 3 months, I am a big schedule person. But I also know it took tilabout 6 months with both my kids for them to be consistently on one.

Welcome! I too think you will find lots of great info here. I lived in Windsor a while back... London is quite different, eh?

    Hi Karen,

Welcome to the forum! I have a 3 year old and 7 month old daughter. We're moving to London in the end of June.

My parenting advice is always "do what works for you!". Try not to let books or people get you too confused; every baby is different and every family is different. What works for one, may not work for another. (My first daughter didn't start a schedule until 9 months, but my second started one around 4 months. Every baby is different. That's what makes them special! )

Welcome. Were you the mom that I somewhat met today at the well baby clinic at Westmount mall?

Glad you found this site. Enjoy.

    Hi Mrs B.

Yes, I was at the baby clinic and Westmount Mall. Very new to this posting thing but I wanted to join London Moms for sure! I keep thinking that not only do I want to meet new moms and make new friends in the area, but my baby will be meeting her future classmates!

Welcome and congrats on your new baby! You will constantly hear conflicting advice on what to do with your baby, but stick to your guns and do what feels right for you and your family!
