    No idea.
Isn't it funny/interesting, though, that I don't really know of anyone called for jury duty. There are people on trial all the time, so you would kind of think that I should know someone, but I don't. Do they just draw from the same group of people all the time? And can you be called more than once?

I don't know, I hope they don't come after me again and again!
I was thinking the same thing though, I don't know anyone IRL who's done it, I've pretty much only heard about it on TV and in the movies. LOL! It is pretty weird.
ETA: I hope it's like on Runaway Jury. That would be exciting. And of course it would involve free food and a hotel stay.

No idea! I don't know though, where's AnnasMom?? I think jury's are more rare and it's usually just a trial by judge. (And no, DH is useless here - he does solicitor work only)

I was called once and that was like over 10 yrs ago. I had to do one trail that lasted for a day and then I had to go back and there was a murder trail and they didnt like me so I was finished. I have never been called ever again

Turtle - That's what I thought. Which made me wonder in what kinds of cases juries are used. I hope it's nothing disturbing/stressful.

What was the trial about, if you don't mind sharing? That sounds like an OK experience!

I was called for jury duty on April 7th - thank goodness I got a call a week later to tell me it was cancelled. They said I will probably have to go later this year though. Sorry, no info, but I'll be watching this thread.

BTW, your employer is obligated to give you the time off for jury duty, but not obligated to pay you!

My DH was called for this - He sat in the court room and one of the 3 people on trial had an issue with the question (he didn't speak english well) said that they did it.... All the jury members were dismissed.

I heard if you get called you will be called again...Yes? No?

It was a girl acccusing her cousin of touching her. there was no evidence and her story didnt fly. I dont know if we made the right decision.

Yeah Karri2217, I'm worried about something like that. Like, I know whenever anyone hears jury duty they groan, but I thought it sounded kinda interesting actually and was all about doing my duty as a citizen, haha (just concerned about childcare). And then I started thinking, what if it's disturbing? I can be pretty sensitive when it comes to violence.

I should clarify though, that as of right now I've been called to a jury panel, which I guess is where they bring you in and decide if they want you as a juror, and then if they do want you they assign you to a jury, not sure when. So it's possible they won't want me and it won't even be an issue.

    Thanks for the input guys.
