    Default Going Grey?

I realize this isn't exactly a health or fitness thing, but it pertains to your body, so there you are!

Alright, now my mom has been laying on the guilt about me colouring my hair a few weeks back. Woopadeedoo. She said it won't be too long until I have to colour it so enjoy my natural colour while I can. WTF!! I'm only 31! When do you go grey??

I didn't vote, there is no "other" option. I haven't seen any gray but I'm naturally blonde (darker every year though) and may just not be able to see it. Lord knows I've earned a few grey hairs in my day and now with 2 little ones and a third on the way, I'm sure there will be some I will see soon.

I have a friend, about 4-5 years younger then me who has had grey for years apparently (didn't know until she mentioned she dyes to cover it), but she has black hair so maybe that's why?

15, and been dying ever since. I'm turning 39 in about a month and now considering letting it just go, although my grey takes forever to grow out, i just colored it like 2 weeks ago and i already have the skunk line down the middle. Its just not worth the hassle anymore. I wish my hair would just GO grey already.

I got my first greys at 19. Now that I'm 23 it's pretty obvious, I have many throughout my hair and streaks at the temples. I dyed it for the first time the other day cause I was sick of the greys. It ended up purple. I'll keep trying! Good thing my natural colour is nothing special

You didn't have "first grey hair at 12 years old" as an option. Dang.

Oh, I just LOVE how my hairdresser pulled out my grey hair to show me! Dosen't that mean two more will grow in it's place?

I see what your mom is getting at. I love my natural colour and I wish i could let it just go for a couple reasons. One is that my hair is very dark brown, but when I dye it, it turns brassy reddish after a while. I hate that reddish colour! Its not that I dont like red - its that my natural colour is a really lovely dark brown with no red and it goes with my skin tone far better. I also dont like using hair dye because is is a lot of chemical to put on your head every six weeks. But at 38, my hair is very noticibly streaked with white, especially on top and it makes me look old and tired to just leave it. I *really* wish I could just have my natural colour back.

I started getting grey's at about 18, just after I met my dh. I have dark hair and it is noticeable that I have grey hair. I sometime colour it, sometimes don't since I really don't care about it all that much. I am 35 will be 36 at the end of the year.

I am 31 and have VERY noticable greys (when my hair isn't dyed!). They are all throughout my hair and there is a streak of them just by my bangs. I started getting greys when I was a teenager.

I have been getting beautiful strands of silver in my hair since I was around 20. I love them. I would be colouring my hair just for the sake of colouring my hair (for fun), not for covering up my grey.

I turn 30 on Sunday, and I have been getting greys for about 3 yrs now. This last year its become really noticeable.
I have a few friends who are my age and almost completely grey, my mom was completely grey by the time she was 25. If my oldest brother lets his hair grow in (he shaves his head), he is completely grey and he is not quite 33.

Feet, why do I need them if I have wings to fly?

I am 28 and I think I may have found one or two in my lifetime. Maybe there are more that I've just never seen, LOL. I dye my hair and I have no idea what my natural colour is anymore.

My sister, on the other hand, started going grey at 18. Now she's 32 and she has a visible skunk streak after 2 or 3 weeks at the hairdresser. She's going to try to go blonde gradually now so that she dosen't have to colour it so often.

My mom went grey young as well, and coloured her hair for many many years. When I was in high school (she'd have been in her 40s...maybe 45?) she chopped all her hair off so it was super super short, bleached it, and allowed the greys to come in fully. The result was GORGEOUS. I love my mom's silver hair.

I'm not sure when I got my first few greys as I dye my hair all the time. But I'm 26 and have to dye my hair now to cover the BIG patches that I have. There are some all over, but there are TONNES around my temples and above my ears.

I'm not so worried about the colour.. but the texture of the greys!.. that hair grows in wirey and ugly! I will NOT be happy if I eventually have a whole head of that!
