    Default LM's Picnic Poll

London Moms is not supplying the burger's & hot dogs this, year the organizers are getting them. Would everyone be will to pay $1.50 for burgers and $1.00 for a hotdog. Everyone would still bring a potluck dish (including the organizers) like last year???

I will be the one supplying the burgers, same ones as last year. They are 100% beef and are from Cold Springs farms, for 80 burgers it will cost me just over 60 dollars. Any monies over the cost of the burgers and dogs will be donated back to the LM's web site. These are not the little pre made patties that you get from Loblaws.

When you say donated back to the LM website, what do you mean?

I didn't vote since I think I will be busy that day

We didn't even post the actual date, since the site isn't getting booked till tomorrow, and it is looking like the third saturday in August. What I mean by donate back is, that Julie has to pay for the site rental, so anything overage will go back to her for the cost of the site.

ETA when I say site rental I mean the rental at Springbank park, not the LM's website itself

Damn - I voted yes, then read the date...the day we are planning on having Clark's 1rst b-day party. BUT, if I WAS going I WOULD pay the suggested amounts for burgers/dogs...

I'm good for that amount. It seem very reasonable.

If there is anything else that needs to be done as far as planning goes, I am willing to help out as much as possible. I believe that DH is umpiring a provincial championship tournament that weekend so I could have DD all to myself.

Sounds absolutely reasonable to me, and someone has to pay for the propane to cook these things......I am really looking forward to it.

I noticed that a few people have posted "no" about paying for hot dogs and hamburgers without giving a reason why. The organizers of the picnic will still be contributing to the pot luck so if people aren't willing to pay for the hot dogs and hamburgers we will not be absorbing the cost and it will just be a pot luck with no barbeque.

I voted yes because my children and dh eat hamburgers but perhaps the people who voted no are vegetarians or aren't planning on going (in which case I guess it would make more sense for them not to vote).

I don't know if these are the reasons but the vegetarian one would have been my reason for voting no, not the price.

I voted yes, when you think about the cost of the 'meat', bun & condiments, that's pretty fairly priced. That bieng said I just hope we can go. Is there a date set yet ? I had to work last year, but would love to come this year. Is the site anywhere near the train or carosel ?

Totally fair price. But I don't think that day will work for us... we have a wedding to attend. I was looking forward to meeting the other london moms. Well, maybe there will be some casual park meetings or something. It's awesome you guys are planning it though, and if the final day it's planned for is different- we will be there!
