She was swimming in newborn sleepers, so yes - they fit fine. She pretty well lived in sleepers for the first 6 months anyways and I've never had any fit problems with those. The only time I really had any sizing issues was when she was 3-6mo old and had porked up something fierce. Stretch pants are our friends She's slimmed out so much now that she can wear almost anything with CDs without issue - when we wear disposables though her pants fall right off.

I wasn't sure about investing in more tiny(small) cd as I didn't know if I'd still use them this time around. I have been using them, but need more/better ones. I have small (10-22lb) Kushies and Indisposables but they are still too big and he leaks out the legs. I have one tiny 'nana's bottoms' that I'm assuming is a SAHM brand that I really like but don't know where to get more as it was bought used. Any suggestions for where to get relatively inexpensive small cd that work?
I really like the kushies for my older son, so I need something to fit until the 22lbs.
Also, what brand of covers do you use? I don't like the kushies covers as they are rough and cold, and have heard the new ones start falling apart after afew washes (and I don't have time to hand wash!). I currently use 'Nikky' covers but only have afew and need more covers too.
note: I'm looking at AIO or Fitted, as I'm not a fan of prefolds. As you can tell, I'm sort of new to this, but I think I've got the lingo right

Nanas Bottoms are a WAHM: http://hyenacart.com/nanasbottoms/
Kushies covers are the pits, they material around the edges wicks! Most children the Kushies AIOs seem to leak as well, I got rid of mine as they always leaked on our little one. Indisposables I hated I got a dozen smalls barely used for a good price before she was born and they didn't fit great and I didn't find them very good in terms of absorbency.
I personally tend to go second hand off diaperswappers, then you can save quite a bit off new, even with the dollar not being as strong it is probably worth it.
There are tonnes of brand out there and a lot of different opinions on what works best for the teeny-tiny phase. I had pretty much fitteds and covers, except for Kushies AIOs and then slowly got some pockets. I didn't like pockets with breast-fed poop when she was little with skinny thighs as I couldn't get a good enough fit to keep it all in
Most brands have a small or x-small that will fit when they're real little. Kushies commonly has the infant (10-22lbs) and toddler (22-35lbs), although they have two smaller sizes that you don't typically see that would be appropriate for newborns, they even have a preemie size. For some reason the stores never seem to carry those smaller sizes.
Personally, for the newborn stage, I don't think absorbency is the biggest issue because you're changing them sooo frequently anyways that I don't think absorbency is the limiting factor.
Sorry, not a tonne of help with specific brands as I had a big baby, and after a couple weeks the stuff I had started to fit (Kushies/sears and Indisposables at the time).
I'd say to have a look at Diaperswappers.com and see if you can see anything that looks good int he for sale or trade. Have you been over there before? Just watch people's ratings to be safe. If you haven't been over there and don't have enough posts to PM, or are bogged down in all the posts, let me know, I'm quiet happy to look around for you I have fun browsing diapers and recognize a lot of brand names, it would be fun

Sorry, covers!
I like Bummis quite a lot, though I found their small cover wouldn't go over the bulky fitteds I had and barely fit over the infant prefolds, but I had a relatively large baby. the couple newborn size I had were ridiculously small hehe. But your little guy is smaller than mine was!
Thirsties are very popular and apparently the small sizes work great for newborns, the inside is just the back size of the PUL and wipes off great if they get dirty So you;re not always having to wash them! The nice thing is that they have gussets which help fit smaller legs from what I've seen. Bummis superbrites are the newer Bummis and have gussets, the super whisper wraps are the classic ones and odn't have gussets.
Mother-ease covers are wonderful! Particularly the airflow, even when loose around little thighs they don't leak!! Their Sandy's style diaper they make an extra-small which is apparently good for little ones (I only had the one-size at that stage) and they also have good re-sale if that is of interest to you.
Kissaluvs are popular newborn diapers and a pretty reasonable size and good resale, you can typically fit sets on diaperswappers.
I've recently liked the Blueberry minkee cover Bumkins are a nylon cover, but also quite popular.
Hmm.. I'll think of anything else.

Hmm, I have a few of the Bumgenius One-size that are at Leigh's place. She was replacing the elastic for me before I left and well, they're still there Our little one just potty trained so was thinking of selling them. Let me know if you're interested. I think the other pockets at her place are kinda girly

There are some One size diapers out there are are supposed to fit both sizes. I find a lot of One Size diapers feel bulkier on the small babies, but that is to be expected. Motherease makes a nice Onesize fitted.

My entire stash is now one sized pockets. Once DS was over 12lbs they fit well. Definatly a little bulkier, but he has no bum anyhow so he needs to extra padding to keep his pants on.

No, a style. There are pocket diapers, where you have a waterproof outerlayer sewn to an inner stay dry layer that makes up the diaper and leave a 'pocket' opening at the back where you put your absorbent inserts in. Then you can put as much or little absorbency as you need.
A one-sized diaper is one that has adjustments that allow you to use them on children over a large range of sizes - in theory from birth to potty training, but many aren't quite the good
The one that we have mostly are the BumGenius one-size pockets:

I have a friend expecting baby #1 in June, who is seriously checking out the cloth diapering options. does anyone still get the kiddies together with coffee and swap/share/show diapers? She'd love to see the options and get all the real ins and outs of what works and DOESNT from some truly experienced ladies!
Thanks!
