Deal we'll meet monday the 18th, I was also going to check out the early years center on maitland. The kids could play and the moms could chat? I know that Myrrah was planning to come, Leigh, girlsmum, so there should be lots of children. Any suggestions for location, ppl have asked for downtown central area....

I still maintain that Monday is n ot the 18th
The OEYC sounds like a good idea. Is there somewhere we could be outside if it is nice and inside if it is bad? There is the children's section of the library at Galleria for something downtown.

How does everyone do the newborn dipe thing? My first DD was very small (5'12 at birth) but I don't want to get a whole newborn stash for such a short time. Can you skip them, even if you have a small baby? I want to use infant PFs but it's the covers that I'm not sure on.
Also, is there such thing as a side-snapping fleece diaper cover that's thin-ish/not bulky, and cheap?

I did Noah right from 1wk old (he had gross merconium(sp?) poops, and I didn't want the laundry right away.
Its super easy though. I didn't have any issues with covers, I used pockets.. but when you think of the 'bulk' of fitteds or prefolds, the covers should fit pretty decent over the dipe, and i dont think it would cause an issue. at least thats my opinion. lol

I've just bought a dozen infant prefolds for this stage. I also bought 6 Thisties V2 covers. The covers weren't cheap but the resale on them is quite good. I should be able to get at least 50% back on them once I'm done using them. The covers I bought range from 6-12lbs but that will depend on each babe of course.

I did manage sort of with infant prefolds and covers at about a week old. DD was 5lbs3oz at 4 days and 6lbs1oz at 2 weeks so she would have been in the range your looking for. I folded them down massively. I had 4 newborn covers that I used quite a bit at the time.
I do have shots of her in KL0s though and a NB bummis (over a purple infant prefold) if you'd like to see.

Can someone please reassure me that there will always be deals on tiny covers on DS and I don't need to go ahead and buy them now? I have too much on my plate to be checking my PMs there and paying people for junk.

I used pockets with DS and I had about four NB ones and the rest were smalls. By two weeks he was also wearing OS diapers, bulky yes, but great for night use! Than again he was 9lbs at birth so I wouldn't know if they fit properly if he had been small.
I have a couple itty bitty WAHM made pocket diapers I loved, but DS grew out of them quick. I've got them listed here http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...d.php?t=634701
If you want them you can have them, they are just collecting dust here.

So cute pic added ABITO! Did her newborn clothes fit over them fine?
Mommymanda, how much do you want for them? I figure you'd want less than listed for on DS because that's PPD? Are they PUL? Who made them, do you know?

The diapes are PUL and are made by an awesme WAHM on there. Her user name is JulieandTroy and I think her store is cozy critters or crazy critters. I have a few of her diapes in a small (or medium in her sizing) and than she started making one size diapers so I've got a bunch of them now. Ya if you want them you can have everything for $10.
