Unhappy crap. what have i gotten myself into!?

I'm on a mission to pump enough milk for Fri night and Saturday night while I'm out. AAAAAH. I was going good, pumped 8oz on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday M got sick and now he's back to nursing all the time. I want to leave Mr.PC with 4-4oz bottles for Friday and 6-4oz bottles for Saturday. So far I have 3 bottles. How can i help boost my supply naturally and quickly??? I've been looking forward to these days for weeks! I don't want to miss out on either event.

Yes for most women but it varies. In order from most effective to least effective:

    Steel Cut or Irish Oats
    Rolled Oats (like Oatmeal-2-Go bars)
    Quick Oats
    Instant Oats

Load and loads of water (easy to get dehydrated right now). Oh and try to cut out caffeinated drinks and chocolate since caffeine dehydrates.

How long will you be gone for each day? Sounds like you're aiming awfully high.

Do you mean quantity wise per pumping session or do you mean how much would you need to leave for an exclusively breastfed baby or a baby who is receiving complimentary solids?

I'm just not too sure which question you're asking...

Ah well that will really vary from person to person. Some mamas can't let down to a pump at all so will get nothing or close to it while others can pump insane amounts in a very short window. It will also depend on time of day (apparently mornings are best since you are generally fullest then), quality of your pump (is it a good/poor manual or a hospital grade or somewhere in between?), frequency of your pumping sessions, your nursing child's age, your mood can even affect the output.

So it's really hard to know. If you're a regular pumping mom then you'd have a good idea of your individual output and what is "normal" for you.

If you feel you aren't pumping "enough" then there are techniques, herbs and drugs you can take to help increase your supply too.

All that to say... The AVERAGE mom (meaning some will be much higher or much lower) can pump between 1-3 oz per pumping session (not per breast).

It is a bit high, yes! M is sick so i'm planning on leaving 4oz for every hour I'm gone. He's been nursing a lot lately.

Thanks, I knew that... but I need a break.... and I won't be able to fully enjoy myself if I have to tend to M

I had a total spazz moment with I started this. LOL. I'm a knucklehead and in my mind, I had to have all this milk pumped for Friday. Then the lightbulb went off and I'm like "HELLOOOOOO, you can still pump on Friday AND Saturday too. *forehead smack*" So, all is well. I'm pumping 2oz each session so I'm well on my way to getting my goal. whoo! I've got 6 full bags so far.

when i was excluvily pumping I could get 4-6 a session (but it was a lot of work, and I was on dom as well)

with Heyden i cant pump anything..I even tried a whole wak of stuff and nothing worked.

    it can be really frustrating.
