Default Great French Playgroup - 5 days a week!

Hello, just wanted to let everyone know about a fantastic playgroup that is held at the French Immersion school at Dundas & Highbury.

It's a similar format to the Early Years Centre. A classroom that has been transformed into a playroom with circle and snack times etc. It has just opened this year and so the toys are fairly new and gently used!

It's absolutely not necessary to speak French! The teacher will speak to your children in French but to you in English. And if the kids speak English between themselves it's not a problem.

It's a great way to get an idea if you want to pursue French immersion once the kids are in school.

If anyone is interested you could call the school for more information... (I only go in the mornings so not sure of times for the afternoon) When you go you just have to buzz at the front door to get in the school then go up the stairs and it is the first classroom on your left.

    Hey!

It is a great place & it's FREE!! I think that they might be closing on Tuesday's (not too sure though)....otherwise it's open from 9:30 - 1:30pm. They are going to be doing free lunches once a week (right now it's once a month).

Mdme. Jennifer is awesome. She is great with the kids. She is fluent in both English & French.

A majority of the parents that go don't speak french (or not very much).

You have to buzz to get into the school (choose "La Tamise") and then go up stiars (2nd floor) and then the room is ahead of you.

    Enjoy!!

Cool! All I need now is a vehicle to get there and I can join in the conversations too, I was born with both languages spoken to me and my teen is already in FI in high school, and would love the same opportunity for my younger girls. Thanks.

Have you tried calling? I tried and they were very french (little English) so I got my DH to call. They had no idea what he was talking about, and I didn't want to just show up at the school. Let me know if you have better luck.

No - I haven't called but am pretty certain I would not understand what they were saying either. Hmnn, I guess we will drive over and have a Plan B in case there is no one there.
