Default To wear or not to wear?

DS is walking all around furniture/walking toys, etc...Is it best to put good shoes on him or let him go barefoot/socks?

I think barefoot is a good idea to help them gain balance.

I think barefoot is good but if you are worried about his feet getting cold you could always put those socks with no-slip bottom things on him.

barefoot is best
however you don't want him to get too used to it and become antishoe lol that's a pain, so make sure anytime he leaves the house -- in carseat, in arms, stroller etc he wears shoes even if just a soft soled one. (that is just my advice learned from experience lol cos dd hated shoes and the second she's in the door now we've compromised -- if she wears socks and shoes outdoors, she can go barefoot all the time indoors.)

barefoot
What I did with my son actually was put him in robeez.. it was close to barefeet without the restrictions of wearing shoes.. (not bing able to flex feet properly.. squishing their little feet into shoes etc)
but he also got used to wearing shoes.. wouldn't slip on our hardwood floors.. and kept his feet warm (he learned to walk in the winter)

I've been putting Robeez on him too, since it's cold and is learning to do all this on hardwood and ceramic tile. While on the carpet I've left socks on. I do have good shoes for him to wear to learn to walk, I just didn't know if barefoot or shoes was best. Seems that bare feet are the answer
