    Default Safety First

Okay... so everyone knows that our stroller malfunctioned, broke whatever and Noah took a huge spill.

While I'm definately NOT happy about that, I am quite pleased with the CS we've recieved since notifying the company about the incident.

I called yesterday around 1, got my info taken down, and passed on to another dept. Was called back around 3, but we were walking out the door to get Matthew from school. Called her back at around 5, left a msg, and was called back this morning.

They took a full report, offered a refund or replacement, issued the refund today, and we should have it in 7-10 days. They are also sending shipping/packaging to send the stroller back (chucked the carseat already).

The CS reps that I've dealt with have all be very concerned about the welfare of Noah, and seem to really care.
So for all of that, I'm impressed.

Do I think I would buy another safety first product? Probably, so long as my baby wasn't in/on it. Lol Would I buy a toy or something like that? Yes.

Because of their CS, they have managed to keep me as a customer.

That's great to hear! Thank you for sharing this. A little bit of sunshine in a usually gloomy CS situation.

It is very nice to hear a company standing beside their products. Peg Perego is not so easy to deal with unfortunately -- I had a very similar incident happen, except no car seat just a baby in a stroller where an axle snapped off in an intersection -- and they could not care less. So delighted that these people are concerned and human!

Hope you get a new stroller that fares better and that Noah's just fine.

I'm curious which stroll you had exactly... Though we rarely used the stroller portion, we have the Acella LX Travel system. We only just discovered last year that the tray is detachable so it can be used easier with older children... I know if it wasn't snapped in perfectly that it could be pulled out without much effort. I wonder if this is what happened with yours?

I knew the tray came out, and snapped in. Have since I got it. It was definately snapped in. I always, always double check it!

So yours is the same system? Yikes. That's scary. As I said, we didn't use it much but the idea that my child could have been injured is frightening. Please keep us posted if they get back to you about what happened.

So we got the cheque in the mail from SF... a big 75.30 US which equals to about 91 CND for our travel system. What a rip off. I paid well over $150 for the system. And they want us to send the stroller back fedex, apparently in the original box? lol I don't have the box anymore! Its been 2 years!

Ummm so the sent you a cheque without getting the product back first? Sounds like they're trying to prevent a lawsuit to me Hmmm... Just make sure you read the fine print on the cheque before you cash it and perhaps make a photocopy too. I assume thay they are paying for the stroller to be shipped back? Tell them if they want it in the "original" box that they will have to send you one of those too. Any chance you have the receipt for the original purchase price? If so, I'd be arguing it or at the very least, demanding a new one of compareable value as a replacement.

They're probably doing what insurance companies do and offering what the system would be worth with 2 years of depreciation. Just a guess?

they sent the packing slips to put on the box when we ship it.. But we don't have a box.

I feel like suddendly their CS might not be as great as it first appeared.. :S
    eta:

They added papers to ask for additional funds, and the steps we need to follow to get those funds ?

I dont know what to do now. Should we call a laywer? I didn't want anything, but them to take care of the stroller/carseat. Noah is OK, and we're in Canada.. we have OHIP.. so it's not like we're paying out of pocket for his ER trip or anything..
