so where did you get your?
    brand? price? warmth?

Cartwrights shoe store in Walkerton has a large selection of really warm boots. You could also try TSC, they have a good selection and usually resonable with the price.

I bought the best pair ever from Sears. They were on sale for $70 at the time. They aren't a fancy name brand but boy do they keep my feet toasty and dry and the grip the ice like nothing I've ever seen!

I think it's a matter of shopping around and something that suits you best. I hear Lands End boots are quite good (you can buy them in some Sears stores). Sorels are supposed to be good. I'd also check out a MEC store if you can get out to one. Their prices are generally higher but the quality and knowledge of products can't be matched IMO.

I have a size 7 men's pair I have worn very occasionally. I don't find them the most comfortable and I migtht have to look at getting a new pair for myself this winter, seeing as I walk my son to and from bus stop every other day and will be doing so everyday next year. I need something more comfortable! I do have a pair of the crocs with the fluffy inside lining but I did find them slippery last winter and I just don't think they will be all that ideal for going for long walks in. With my luck I will fall and injure my back again! I have flipped through the Sears books a few times and saw some I like, so I may order them from there (and this time they will be women's and not men's-I find the men's styles too wide).

I'll check them out. This will be my 4th winter with them and they are holding up extremely well.

Wear 2 pairs of socks when you go - or whatever winter socks you have.

I looked and the ones I have are the brand "Super Fit". The are marked on the bottom with an "F" and it says "Thermostatic Rubber" on the sole.

Here are a bunch that are available at Sears... Mine are just a slightly different style.

    Superfit Winter Boots

These ones especially look warm and they say are also waterproof. The price is great right now at $62.99 too. I may pick myself up a new pair for when these ones kick the bucket

There are some nice and warm boots at Costco right now. I think they are either Columbia or Sorels. I don't remeber the price but I remember thinking it was a good deal and that I shouldn't have bought my expensive boots last year.

Yup! I bought them the year I was pregnant with DS (2005) and I needed some good boots to keep myself from slipping on ice (he was due at xmas). I've worn them every year since ('06, '07 and this will be winter #4). I'm not a hiker or long distance walker so I'm not sure how they hold up under those conditions as a regular thing but they have served me very well.

I bought some Columbia's 2 winters ago for $100 and worth every penny. I got them at Shoe Company on Fanshawe Park Road. They have waterproof bottoms and a zipper.
