Default How often do you check in on them?

Do you check on your LO while he/she naps? If so, how often and why? I'm paranoid and do it all the time and wonder if thats normal.

I used to check in on them all the time when they were babies. If they slept longer than usual, I had to check if they were still breathing/alive. It just made me nervous.

They are now nearly 5 years and 28 months and I don't check in on them at all because I'm afraid I'll wake them up. I'm now confident that if they need me, they will call me. I'm the lightest sleeper in the world!

I'm half and half. I'm weaning myself off using the monitor for DD1 when she naps bc she's 2.5 and she naps fine if I leave her alone. DD2 is just this week starting to take naps in her crib instead of in my lap/the swing/on the couch/on the floor so I check on her bc I want to keep it positive and catch her before she wakes and freaks out about being alone in a crib.

I responded "Napping? What's that?" but the truth is my DD recently started having a nap once a week, and I neither "always check on her" nor do I "never". Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I do wish both my kids had naps however because I find if I get some rest - even for 10 minutes - I feel I can take on the rest of the day quite well (but then I have chronic fatigue).

Ok, I wouldn't say I am too busy to check on them but they are both really good sleepers and I have monitors for both so if they are awake I will know. I don't want to wake them by opening the door!

Yup, I usually just take a peak through the crack in the door. Bed time is different, I check at least 2 times before I go to bed. That's going right in making sure they're covered up and not in weird positions. Jordyn is often upside down.

Both of my guys are light sleepers and I don't check on them for fear of waking them up. Putting them back to sleep isn't easy.

I chose 'napping, what's that?' b/c my LO is not the greatest at napping out of arms. At night I check on her constantly before I go to bed but that's coz she is in bed with my 4 year old (really far away but nonetheless), and I also have cats. When she was new I would jump up literally every 2 mins or less.

With my first I would check on him every 1/2 hour-45 mins. when he was an infant. Once he got older it was just when he slept longer than normal. I used to check on my youngest but then he would wake up within 5 minutes of me leaving the room. Once I stopped checking on him he slept much better so I don't anymore. He's the type of kid that starts screaming for me the minute he's awake so I know when he needs me!
