Not really a difference between what you can make and what you can buy IN STORES. There is a difference between what you can make and what you can buy online. A stretchy wrap is good for the newborn phase (up to about 15 lbs) but then tends to sag easily. Then a woven wrap (didymos, stochenqeige, hoppediz, neobulle) are more of a long term wrap (I can wrap my almost 40 lb toddler still.)

Does everyone still get together at the library downtown ?when? I have several friendswith Baby wearing questions that I am not yet expert enough to answer, and I'd love to bring them out to the group!

AFAIK, there is a meeting on the 12th. I believe there is a post about it in the Get-together's forum . I'm sure they'll welcome and support you and your friends!

I'm using a stretchy wrap with my 10 week old. He's only wearing a onesie, pants and socks but is sweating in it-I need his head supported which I'm guessing is what makes his neck sweat-is he going to overheat-what can I do?

just put him in a onesie. if he's all curled up in there his body heat plus your will keep him snug as a bug.

it's very informal and it's just a bunch of ladies chatting away. there's usually someone who can help out with any questions/do demos. most of us are familiar with a variety of carriers.

I spied a babywearing Mama walking into the Stratford food basics yesterday. She was wearing a blue stretchy wrap in a FWCC with a newish babe tucked inside.

i have a question about the snguli.(sp) i have been using and and i love it. Zachary loves it he falls asleep in it! He is in it facing me still. When is he able to face outward?
i never had one of these with my other 2 boys!! i had a MT made for when i had Jonny but i started to use that when he was only 6 months!
i need to find my MT, and Princess sold me one of her wraps! i havent got the hang of that one yet! but im trying!

There's another thread right now about forward facing. I'd say let him face you until he gets to that phase of wanting to see more. When DS started getting antsy about staring at my chest all day I switched to back carries.

Same with my DD. When she fusses and shows signs of being over stimulated, I just adjust her so she faces me and she falls asleep

Can someone help me with either 1) THe thread discussing carriers for children to use for their dolls or 2) the person who says they make ones with velcro?
