Baby wearing Mamas
Just making a few stickies so that you can all talk about what's new in baby wearing or get support and advice from other like minded mamas. Hopefully new members will be able to find information easier by having it all in one thread! Enjoy!

My 4 month old baby is 18lbs and growing fast. He's much too heavy to comfortably wear in my ring sling and he's starting to sag in my stretchy fabric wrap. Does anyone have any suggestions for carriers that work well for heavier babies? I'm kind of a wussy girl so it would need to spread the weight well

Jenelen, I think a woven wrap, mei tai, or a soft structured carrier such as ergo or beco would work well. What you want IMO is a two shouldered carrier with an option to use it front or back. I am all about the wraps these days myself and find them most comfortable by far (my babe is 5 mos and 19 lbs), but they have bigger learning curve than some of the others. Lots of good options though!

Ok...I am not sure if I am right but 'baby wearing' mean using a sling or a carrier? or does it have a narrower description. I want to get a sling for my daughter. Any suggestions on what ones are comfortable and easy to use? It is not for breastfeeding just for closeness and to have free hands while I have other little ones around to care for.
Thanks for any info!

Shawna won't be available tomorrow at Babeeze, so we'll have to have the meeting at Central Library again tomorrow.

My cousin is from Montreal, is expecting her third child as well and is also interested in wearing this baby. She's been asking me questions, but I don't know the answers. Maybe someone here can help. Here's here question. TIA.
I have a carrier question for you... Have you heard of a Kozy carrier, it's a brand of mei tai? I've been looking and reading lots of reviews and it seems like a very versatile carrier especially for the price (under a $100) I thought I would give it a stab and see if you've come across any.
