Try to find your son's teacher on teacherweb. This is the list we got from my son's grade 3 teacher last year:

Add indoor shoes to that! lol

I have my son's list for going into grade 2 -
    Package HB Pencils
Small sturdy hand pencil sharpener (with shaving catcher)
    2 glue sticks
    1 bottle of white glue
    Pencil crayons (sharpened)
    Pencil Case or Storage container
    Scissors (pointed with metal blades)
    1 box tissue
    Indoor Shoes

Our school asked that none of the kids up to and including grade 3 bring markers to school.

    Hope this helps.....

have you checked your schools website?? maybe they have a list. Or check out their newsletter from June. Our school had it listed there. This is what the kids at our school need for grades 1-3

    Kleenex
    pencils
    crayons
    glue stick
    ruler
    erasers

Totally diff from the pp grade 2 list so who know. you can probably check with your childs school the last week of August the secretaries are usually there an maybe they'll be able to help out.

The school I work at provides everything for the kids. All they need are indoor shoes and a backpack!
The secretaries are in the school beginning Monday...I'd call and ask or wait until the first day to hear from the teacher.

This is the first year of having to supply anything. We got the list on the last day of school but I can't find it now lol. I know it had a box of kleenex, thin markers, thick markers, pencil crayons, crayons, highlighters, lined paper, scissors, glue. I know there was more, but I'll have to wait for the first day to find out.

I have 2 kids in school and my oldest is in grade 4. I've always received the list of what is required in the first week of school! I wish our school had provided that list at the end of the previous year, it would have made it easier. Anyway, I'd buy just what you know your child will need until you hear from the teacher. It does tend to depend on the school AND the teacher as to what your child will need. I do like to buy supplies of my own choosing for at home anyway since much of it is needed for homework and projects. I keep a large plastic container full of various items like paper, books, pencils, crayons, sharpeners, etc.
