Question Catholic Elementary Schools - recommendations?

    Hi Everyone,

My husband and I plan to move within the next 2 years to a house we would like to stay in while we raise our children. Naturally, although they won't be starting school for a bit we want to make sure we make the move to where we will like the school.

We are currently in the North-West part of the city. We are fairly open as to where we would go but will most likely look to stay more or less in the north or west half of the city.

So, my question is - What Catholic Elementary Schools do your children go to and how do you like them???

    Thanks!!

My kids are at St. Theresa in Byron. So far we've only dealt with kindergarten but we've been pleased. DH is a catholic elementary school teacher and he woudl work at this school, which I think says something because he's pretty picky.

St. Marguerite D'Youville is a really nice school. I am a daycare provider and two of the children I care for go there. I take them back and forth to school so I see the teachers and staff alot and talk to them etc. They seem very warm and have a strict policy on being compassionate toward others etc. If we were Catholic I would want my kids to go there too.

My house is literally down the street from St. Marg's. When I stand on my sidewalk I can see the front of the school (it T-intesects with my street). AND, my house is for sale too! Yes, shameless, shameless plug! But seriously, it is a good school.

We're in the southwest end. My LO's will be going to St.Jude's. It got a #1 rating the last time the province/city had a school-rating thing. Dont know what its like now, but I went there and liked it fine!

Some of my sons friends go to St. Catherine of Sienna and their families love it (fyi they have uniforms) and my neice and nephew go to Blessed Kateri and they think it's great too - they previously went to St. Marks (which they liked) but were switched due to boundary changes.

My3Boys, is there any chance your husband would be game to share what schools he wouldn't work at? Maybe by PM if you prefer?

Is anyone aware of any other schools that have uniforms? To be honest, I wouldn't mind that one bit.

Thanks for the responses so far. Very helpful to hear other parents' experiences with different schools.

    Keep the recommendations coming!

St. Catherine of Siena is the only Catholic elementary school in London that has uniforms.

St. Martin has just implemented uniforms this coming year.
