Default Anyone have loved ones at Forest Lawn?

I am sooo disgusted at what happened there the other night. For those of you who don't know someone stole about $30 000 worth of vases from this cemetery. I am wondering if anyone has loves ones there and if you've been contacted if yours was stolen. I know that both my fathers and grandfathers vases were both out because I was there on Father's Day to bring flowers. I can't drive there until my DH gets home from work with the car...........This seriously makes me SICK!

both my grandparents, great grandparents and great aunts/uncles are buried there. i can;'t remember if there was a vase on grandparents plots or not. will have to tell my dad.

its disgusting why people do this-just for money. can't get it from the living so why not try the dead?

oh no my grandma is there! I will have to call my dad to inform him. I am assuming since I haven't heard of this from anyone in my family that her vase was not disturbed. SICK pathetic people!

It's unfortunately, but the lesson to be learned is not to have anything valuable/sentimental available at the gravesite to be vandalized and/or stolen.

Graveyard vandalism is not new, or unheard of. Headstone tipping, flower stealing etc... it's really crappy, but it happens. There's no security, no safety. I'm not as sentimental I guess, but I just would have a flat headstone (against the ground) and nothing attached that could be broken/ruined/stolen that would break my heart. My memories of my loved ones are in my heart, not in a vase at their burial site.

I'm really not trying to be cruel or unfeeling. I just think it's the sad reality of today that people don't respect other people's things.

Forest Lawn only allows flat bronze stones.....So thats whats there!

Anyways, I think that this is very unfortunate and disrespectful!

Amy, a lot of the flat stones come with built-in vases. My grandmother has one. My mom loves to go out regularly and put flowers in it...it's just a way to honor and 'keep in touch' with her. Very sad to hear this happened.

Are the built-in ones easy to take off? or were they smashed? either way it's horrible that ppl did it, I hope that people don't think I am heartless...

    So sad when this happens.

It's apparently a huge problem in the deep south (US) with all the large family tombs and burial plots.

I hope that those families that were affected can heal. How violating.

Just got this from the LFP:

Two suspects are in custody and 135 of 170 bronze vases stolen from a London cemetery have been recovered
