Smile Challenge! Who wants to join me?

The other thread got me thinking about the amount of fast food my family has been eating the past month. We've been so busy we have really let this slide out of control. So I think I am going to give it up for one month starting today... Except for coffee, sorry I need my Tim's run (just coffee no donuts)

Anyone want to do this with me that way we'll be less likely to cheat but you have to be honest and post if you cave.

Now I need to figure out what is quick for dinner!

I've already joined you! No take out- or sugar for my family. We don't rely on caffeine so coffee isnt a problem for us. We're also trying to cut out snacking and eating after 8. The only fast food I could consider would be subway

Yes it's not hard once you get started we used to be a no fast food no sugar no white flour family but have gotten off track so this is a way to start healthy habits again. But yeah coffee is staying in this house!

    Anyone else?

I'm in. But, if you get coffee, I get the occassional Iced cap! DH would rather cut off his arm than be in, but I'll stick to it for me!

This is a GREAT idea! We don't eat a lot of fast food in our house, but my dh and I definitely have a mutual love for things fried. When we had kids we agreed that we needed to regulate it and not let our eating habits get out of hand, especially when the kids were eating with us. I think cold turkey might be the way to go... I find that eating bad food only makes me crave it more and more.

Everywhere I turn there is sugar. People always bring food in at work and I'm at my Mom's a lot, always cookies, ice cream, chocolate covered nuts, M&M's, chocolate bars, cake you get the idea.

I'm in. NO SUGAR for a month.

I was watching TV tonight and a dietician was talking about sugar being what causes the larger or flabby tummy. She said to give up sugar for JUST two weeks and watch the flab disappear! Cool...I'm definatly up to that challenge. Updates!

I am in!! Great idea, we are not bad for fast food around here, unless you count my Pom a Berry Boost, and yogurt, at Williams when us LMs meet up once a month.
But I can try the NO Sugar thing for a month. It will be hard but I will try!

are we giving up sugar too? I thought it was just fast food! LOL
I'll do sugar if others want to as we used to do it but be forewarned for those that haven't done it before,it's not as easy. Sugar is in so many things and you go through withdrawl for a few days. That says something right there doesn't it? I found the first 3/4 days were difficult and I was CRANKY but after that the cravings went away and I didn't miss it. Another lovely benefit is yes the weight just falls off in my experience. But you have to be really careful about what you eat and read labels, refined sugar is in a lot of things which could bring back your cravings for it. White bread or refined whole wheat is one of the worst offender that people don't think of and wow will you notice it!

Horvyboysmom; No worries. LOL Just start again if you like.
