    Default Child-Friendly Knit/Crochet Group

There's a new knitting/crochet group for moms at Childreach (265 Maitland St)! We meet every Wednesday morning from 10am-noon. We call it Stitch Together. The idea is to get together with other moms who like to knit or crochet (or want to learn how) and to chat about parenting and life in general!

Drop in with your little ones and join other parents to play with sticks and strings and commiserate. Canít knit? Crochet! Canít do either? Then someone will help you get started! Make a scarf AND friends simultaneously! We have lots of extra yarn and needles, so if you don't have either, we have you covered. Oh, and it's FREE.

    Hope to see you there!

I don't know why I didn't tell you already! You're so crafty!! We've been meeting for about a month now, and sadly there's usually only two or three of us and a couple of babies that attend. I'd love to see more moms out!

That's funny! There should be groups for kids to get together and work on their needlecrafts!

Glad you bumped this thread though, because the group has gone defunct without many knitters/crocheters coming out. We had a good core group of four of us that were pretty regular, but it wasn't enough to keep it going. Cue sad face.

It was kind of challenging in that the moms had a hard time watching their children and babies and knitting. And there was no one good time that would work for all of the moms. There are enough knitting groups around the City where you can bring your children along. I'm thinking of the library knitting groups - check their website. I used to go to the Westmount branch on Wednesday evenings, and it was a very welcoming and FUN group. Now I meet up at the Western Fair Farmers Market once or twice a month on a Saturday morning with a bunch of knitters that I know. The only problem with it is that we schedule them by the seat of our pants. The 'bat' signal is sent out late on Friday evenings, and we go from there.
