    Default What's in your crib?

Curious as to what others did with their infants cribs.
Did your infant get blankets? Stuffies? Nothing but a mattress? Bumper pads?

DD has a stuffed animal and just her sheet. She wears a sleep sack to bed.

Well it depends on age. Up until a year she had nothing and slept in a sleep sac. But now at 16 months she has a blanket and a stuffed bunny, a couple small books.

it totally depends on age. Before around 18 months they had nothing and slept in a sleep sack. Now dd has bumper pads, a blanket, and a couple of stuffed animals.

Before a year nothing and she slept in a sleep sack. Then she started getting her head at the top of the crib in the bars so we put on bumper pads. Now at 2 and a half she has blankets, bear, and bumper pads. She still hasn't figured out how to crawl out!

DD is 5 months old and has 2 blankets, bumper pads, a stuffed scentsy zebra & monkey (but monkey isn't in her bed right now, usually is), sometimes she takes her rattle to bed too. And Sebastian often goes to bed with her too. We close the door in the evening though so that he can't climb into her crib without someone checking in periodically.

I would be very cautious about putting that Scentsy thing in there. They advise against stuffies for kids that young, but also the chemicals related to the scentsy, combined with the reduced air flow from the bumpers......

Thanks, but I'm not worried. She's had them in her bed since birth.

That is a lot of stuff for her age. I would worry about her airway or her rolling into the bumper pads and getting stuck. It really is not recommended to have that much stuff in the crib at that age. I would also never let my four year old in the crib with the baby either. Accidents can happen so fast.

We have nothing but a fitted sheet and her sleep sack. Sometimes
she takes her dolly to bed but its small and firm.

My 5 year old doesn't go in the crib... ?
And she doesn't get stuck, she's exploring the idea of crawling right now..

I didn't know so many people used sleep sacks. As babies my kids pretty well had a light blanket (born in the summer), crib sheet, no bumpers.

I really dont think little babies should be sleeping with cats , I dont believe breathing the cat hair in while sleeping could be good for them at all. Not to mention the risk of the cat accidentally hurting the baby.

Looove the sleep sacks! My friend made me the cutest one.
Before she could move around she had a blanket tucked under the mattress to prevent it going over her face

I will admit in the beginning I had the bumper pads and the blanket in the crib (maximum 5 days maybe) before I realized and learned that it can be harmful to an infant. I didn't hesitate for a second, I took everything out. This was not something I was going to take a chance on. Besides my DD slept on her belly so it was a big No No to have the blanket

As for the cats, no cats allowed in the crib. We had a mesh tent designed to go on top of the crib.
Isis I am sure you are aware of the "do's and don'ts" and certainly I am not going to tell you what to do. Take what you want from it any apply it as you wish
