So terrible that you can do that and just keep driving I hope they find the person responsible.

Everyone, please keep your eyes and ears out if you see or hear anything!!!
This little boy is my husbands 10 year old cousin. He was riding his bike on the sidewalk, wearing his helmet. The driver jumped the curb, hit him hard and then fled. There should be visible damage on the underside and front bumper of the car.
    Thoughts and Prayers please everyone!!
As of right now, he is in a medically induced coma, still in critical condition but considered somewhat stable at the moment.

so upsetting that someone could hit a child and just drive away. I hope the driver is found and punished by the law. Is the little boy local to that area? I have friends that live near.

This has been constantly in my thoughts since I heard about it. It happened in my neighborhood and my family was watching a movie when I saw the ambulance and fire trucks pass by. It could have easily have been one of my kids or any other. My kids ride their bike on that same sidewalk all the time. TONS of kids do. There are two three way stops close together on this street and the street arcs similar to a very large crescent. From what I saw it looked like it happened right past one of the stops. But cars run those stops all the time and go way too fast. It's scary. Add that the street has no streetlights, only individual lampposts and that kids from THREE schools travel on it and an accident is sadly not surprising. With the dark and the rain I would bet this car was flying down the street and lost control on the curve. This street should have speed bumps to calm traffic. Just last month I saw a boy on a bike almost hit at the other stop sign. It was so very close.

lc01045, My thoughts are with your husbands family and I and I know my neighbors are keeping a look out for a car that fits the description. Hopefully they find who ever's responsible and charged.

Keeping him in my thoughts and prayers I hope they find the BASTARD who did it.

An Ingersoll man and woman face multiple charges in an east London hit-and-run that critically injured a 10-year-old boy.

A car travelling on Wexford Ave. near Royal Cres. – near the intersection of Clarke Rd. and Wavell St. – struck a boy bicycling with two friends about 7 p.m. Friday, police said.

The vehicle drove away without offering assistance, police said.

Toby Van Lieshout, 34, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, possession of a substance, driving while suspended, careless driving and using a plate not authorized for a vehicle.

Police have also charged the owner of the vehicle suspected to be involved in the crash.

Rebecca Van Lieshoutm, 39, is charged with accessory after the fact, assaulting police, possession of a substance, permitting an unlicensed person to drive a vehicle and not having insurance.

I wouldn't be bothered if they lock them up and throw away the key.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

One of the things that I'm trying to get my head wrapped around is that it looks like they have young kids (discovered while I was admittedly creeping around on FB). First, I really, really don't understand how you leave anyone, let alone a child, even if you aren't a parent... BUT, how can another PARENT do this??? Just leave a CHILD?? And second, my heart goes out to his and her poor kids... on many levels.
