Question Did your kids enjoy going back to school?

Poll to follow with multiple answers for different kids.

DS1 who is in Grade 2 loved going back to school, new teacher and seeing some of his friends from last year. DS2 who is in his 2nd year of full day Kindergarten (SK) really likes going back to his same teacher and some of his JK friends from last year.

Mind you mine are still young. I am sure the older ones have mixed reviews.

DD normally loves school but she wasn't too happy this year. She was ready, but they were moving the whole school to a new school and she likes to know what is going on and hates change so she didn't like her first day.

Yep, H loves school, although she was telling me she didn't want to go on the last week of summer she was super excited on the first day of school. Her school is still every other day for SK so it's not all that much for her at this point.

This is ds first year at school. He is in jk fdk. I asked him what is favourite part of his day was yesterday and he said the end when he got to go home. He says he likes his teachers but just would rather be home

DS is in grade 2 and has never enjoyed going to school. He would much rather stay home with me SDD had mixed feelings this year (grade 7) but she likes her teacher etc. She was just nervous for grade 7.

Mostly. They are both liking school and their teachers, but given a choice they would probably choose summer vacation.

DD loves school so much that yesterday she refused to leave. lol. She was screaming at the top of her lungs "I DON'T WANNA GO HOME!" and I was forced to carry her a good part of the way home because she was dead set on going back to J/K instead and kept trying to get away from me.

yes they both did. dd1 was a little more hesitant since we didn't know who her teacher was and if any of her friends would be in her class. But once that was all sorted she was fine. dd2 had been waiting to go back she was excited.

DD1 said she was good with it, but she tries hard to put on a brave face when she is nervous. She is in grade 1, and a 1/2 split so that was hard last week. The jk/sks at her school have their own playground area, and as much as she really wanted to be in the 'big kid' yard, the change and number of kids stressed her out a bit. We had a few sleep issues due to the changes and her stress and nervousness. She prefers calm to chaos!

DD2 is loving FDL in JK. Her teacher said she 'led the room' on her first day! This kid goes with the flow and thrives in busy environments.

DD loved it last year - she was JK. She is not enjoying it as much this year as she is having a hard time adjusting to the fact that the SK's have moved on and that there are new JK's.

    Not so much.
DS#1 thinks high school is boring and his teachers give way too much personal information about themselves.
DS#2 likes the social part of school, but is not really work / results orientated.
    DS#3 hates school. period.

    I miss the younger grades.

DS1 was very excited to go back and loved being back at school. He's really enjoying grade 1 so far and I think he missed speaking french over the summer.

DD had her first day yesterday and did amazing! She is very excited to go back on Friday.

My kids are enjoying it. They both love their teachers.
I just make sure they have really awful summers so that they want to go back. (Kidding of course!)
