    Unhappy I know he's a fish but...

I'm fairly certain we're losing Monstro, my goldfish.
I have been crying on and off since I noticed him just after dinner.
He's swimming sideways, his fins are shredded, and I can reach my hand down into the tank and lift him out of the water with absolutely no fight from him.
I don't know what happened.... he's almost 2 years old and the size of my palm. He's my water baby.. I feel ridiculous crying about a fish but he really does mean a lot to me... he's really not 'just a fish'...

Have you treated with anything? You might be able to save him. Are his gills red? Red streaks in his fins?

No theres nothing, he's just sideways and shredded. He's had a white poop (sorry I know thats TMI) that's been 'stuck' for the last few hours... I was going to try to pull it out a bit? help him? but I decided it'd be better to just leave him. Thought about transferring him too just in case we can save him but I wouldn't know what to do

Plus the stress of switching tanks, etc...

White poops can sometimes be internal parasites but the shredding sounds more bacterial. I doubt the others are beating him up? If hes still around tomorrow, text me. Ill ask Tony what he thinks, hes the fish guru. He can fix anything fish related
Also if you bring in a water sample, we test for free and are more accurate than petsmart. Just to rule out water quality. I love my fish. My foxfaced dissapeared and i'm pissed

I'm sorry about your fish. We just lost our shunbunkin gold fish last week to swim bladder disease. We tried everything to fix him but nothing worked. Ours ended up swimming upside down like a capsized boat.

I'm sorry. I totally get it. We have had our betta fish for over two years now and I keep saying that he is the best fish (and longest living) that we have ever had. I know that it will be a sad day when he passes.

The other fish have already started eating him. I'm concerned that no matter what we try it'll be too late...

Monstro made it through the night! This gives me some hope, maybe we can save him. We're going to try everything we can today.

Me too. I love my fish so much. I try so hard to do right by them and it sucks when one gets sick.

Just sat down to eat, I figure we'll just go see him after lunch.

I've been doing some reading online though and it sounds like swim bladder disease may be the culprit. Guess Monstro's going to be eating pea's in another day or so.
