After school care....

I have a 12 1/2 watching my kids 4 days a week next year from 3:45-5:15ish. She is bringing her twin but I only have to pay for one sitter. I had told them I would pay $40 a week, some days it will be just one child and other days it will be two. My dd will still be every other day next year. Do you think that is enough or should I be paying more???

My 13 year old gets $20 for 1.5 hours before school and 1.5 hours after school per day. That is for one child. For the other family she gets $5 per hour for 2 children.

We had that situation this year with our babysitter watching our girls from 3:05-4:30 (having one everyday and the other 2 or 3 days a week). We paid them $20.00/day regardless of if they had one or both. When we met with them prior to them starting they request $20.00/day.

What ages are your children? $40 seems fair for a 12 yr old- works out to $10/day. 4x 1.5=6 hrs / week
40/6= $6.67/hour- tax free. I would maybe throw in a bonus every so often.
Btw. we only pay one sitter even if they bring a sibling over. (they can decide if they give some to them)
