It is normal for little ones to walk between 10months - 2years. I know some kids walked before 12 months and some that walked shy of the 2nd b-day.

I have 4 kids they ALL walked 9 and half months - 11 months.

My oldest son didn't walk until he was 18 mos old. He was a bum scooter too. He could scoot all around the house and ride around on ride on toys but didn't want to walk. He is now nearly 8 years old.
My youngest son walked right around his first birthday.
They are all different; I wouldn't be concerned at all at this point.

DD1 was over 18 months when she started walking, she'd takes a few steps sometimes but was really cautious (still is), the Dr. sent her to get x-rays to be sure everything was ok, but I knew she could walk and that she just didn't.

    DS#1 was 17 months
    DS#2 was 18 months

    ...and DS#3 was 22 months

At his 18 month checkup I mentioned that DS #3 wasn't walking yet, but as PP's have said the docs weren't too concerned. We do have a history of ASD in our family (which can include some gross motor delay issues) but don't know if that had anything to do with it. Also, I probably didn't encourage my kids to walk as much as I could have. All fine now though!
