    Question Travel insurance while pregnant?

I am booking through CAA travel insurance for my trip to Orlando, Florida in September.

Their insurance stipulates that they will not cover me for anything pregnancy related if it falls 9 weeks before my expected due date. (Third trimester?) which is December 12.

I will be in my second trimester and am safe from that clause. Anyone have problems before? Just wondering before I travel....

Problems with insurance companies, travel insurance etc?

    Thanks!

I have been in the states a few times while pregnant and well into my second trimester and I questioned the sales guy and he said as long as I'm not past the 32 week mark then I am fine and will be covered if anything baby should happen.

We use Blue Cross or Co-operators for our coverage though.

eta: I read yours as being backwards to my coverage. Mine won't cover you for the last twoish months as it is sort of common for something to happen at that point making you a higher risk that they'll have to pay a bill for you.
Yours is saying it is unlikely that anything will happen before 31 weeks, but if it does they won't cover you because it would be very expensive as a baby born that early will be in the NICU for a bit.

I'd maybe call and verify your coverage.

I think you're fine... I was 29 weeks preggo when I was in an accident in the states and while nothing happened to the baby I did have an ultrasound there that I had covered.

I travelled to North Africa and Europe while in my second trimester. The insurance I bought was through travel cuts and it said it would cover anything pregnancy related. (cutoff was much closer to 40 weeks, maybe 35 weeks?)

I also will add that on a separate trip (not pregnant) I had emergency surgery and various doctors appointments and had to take a last minute flight home and the insurance company arranged everything and I got every penny back but you have to communicate with the insurance company the minute anything happens.

The way it was explained to me is that I was covered but baby was not. So had baby been born crazy early his/her expenses would not be covered but mine would be.
