Smile For the Student LM's - Done Term 2, thanks for the support!

Just for the Student LM's here, to say that I am done term 2 of College. I switched from DSW to Early Childhood Education In January as I wanted a more hands-on children related program. I found the DSW program too medical for working as an EA in the school system. I really enjoyed my term in Early Childhood.

Thanks for all your support and advice as I went back to school after 12 years in September to upgrade my Elementary teaching from Alberta.

    Congrats!

Congrats! I'm glad you like the program. Are you doing the regular or the fast track? Is Marion Warwick still teaching? I loved her classes.

Carol, I was in DSW in Fast Track (7 courses) in September but I did not enjoy the program (too medical for being an EA in the school system) In January, I took some ECE courses, applied into the ECE program in February and I got excepted in the Fast Track (with my Elementary Education background). I am doing my own track, part-time through my ECE advisor to fit in my kids schedule. I did not have Marion for any of my classes. I had Monica for Observing Early Childhood, Mary was suppost to teach us Health, Safety and Nutrition but it was Kim instead.

Carol, when did you complete your ECE?

I am going to enjoy my summer with my boys.

Oh my, I guess it was 10 years ago! Geesh I'm getting old! lol I remember Mary, and Monica was my practicum adviser. There wasn't a Kim there when I was a student, but there was a Janet and Jan who I believe had something to do with the ELECT document(very knowledgable woman). Have fun in the program, it was a bit of a whirlwind, but so much fun. People often don't realize how much an ECE truly learns about child development. Your goal is to be an EA?

Hame, I'm sorry to hear that as she was a great teacher. I still remember her saying if you EVER do circle with infants I will come and find you! LMAO Never did it and I'm not sure it's even possible.

Carol, I was going to go into to be an EA when I was in the DSW program. Now that I am in Early Childhood, it is now ECE.

Thanks for all your support over the past 8 months! LM's are awesome!
