Cool RESTARTING: Spring/Summer Exercise Thread 2013

After 7 months of not have the thread because of being a student again, I have decided that I will re-engergize and re-start the thread because I miss the thread so much. Going to the gym or doing core work at home is not the same without this thread for extra motivation and support

All you need to post in this thread: DO a minimum of 20 minutes of physical activity in a day, that is all.

Try aiming for 3-4 times a week to start with and see where you go from there! This can be doing an exercise DVD or yoga at home, going for a walk/run with your LO in the stroller, and DOES NOT have to be going to a gym.

Let's start posting and motivating us for a healther you!

Today, I wanted to do my Group Kick class but felt a run would do be better after taking a week off with March Break. Well ... a 30 minute run on the treadmill and 10 minutes of core work in the stretching area seemed way harder than an hour long class that includes all the stretching. I'm back to my gym classes as that is much more enjoyable for me than doing a run solo. I also have met 4 other Mum's too over the past 3 years that we go to the same classes at the gym. I finished my run and two of them were coming out of the class and I felt I should have gone when I saw their enthusiam.

Tomorrow? I'm meeting a friend for a long overdue coffee in the morning so I'll miss the class but I will really try to make the Group Ride lunch time class. If the snow is horrible to drive in -- I'll have to do some yoga and core work at home.

    Did anyone else exercise today?

Mum09and11, walking is great so you can still post if you have done more than 20 minutes. Again you DO NOT need to go to the gym to post.

The freezing rain/snow squalls did not materialize so I wasable to get in a 40 minute Group Ride (spin) class which was wonderful.

I'm so happy at how many LM's are posting so all you keep up the good work!

I meet with my personal trainer 2x a week for 55minutes. I do aquafit 2x week (45minutes) and do 60minutes of cardio a minimum of 3x week. I also walk everywhere I go (except rare occasions) and do excercise routines at home that she has outlined for me, that honestly, are harder than any of the gym stuff!

So today, I did 60min interval walking and 60 minutes with my trainer and 30 minutes home excercises

Good idea! I ran 25 minutes with my running group last night. And am SO sore from it. Hoping to get out again tomorrow or Friday.

Yesterday was 15 min toning workout, 30 min walking x 2 and 1 hour of cardio kickboxing

Today was 30 min walking x 2. My legs are too sore from last nights workout for my 35 min workout this morning!

I have to say since I started going 4 times a week to kickboxing I have a lot of definition in my arms/back/shoulders/abs, kind of cool

Today I did 75 minutes of cardio
(plus walking to and from the gym (15min each way) and grocery store. Then babydd fell asleep in the stroller so I did 3 rounds of my crescent doing interval walking.
