    Default making herself vomit?

Dd3, (18 mos) has been shoving her fingers down her throat to make herself sick. Not just once but she does it many times throughout the day and vomits a LOT. Has anyone else ever had this problem? What do I do?

Is she doing it for a reason? DD used to make herself sick when she was little when she was upset, especially at night time when she didn't want to go to sleep. We would scold her and tell her to stop, and try not to give her extra attention for it. She eventually got over it.

She laughs. She thinks she's hilarious and I panic and probably smother her more than necessary. It's just such an odd thing to do for absolutely no reason.

It sounds like she's doing it for the attention. I would just calmly clean it up and completely ignore her when she does it. Eventually once she realizes it's not working anymore she'll stop.

i agree with pp its an attention getter. i would calmly clean her up and perhaps do a time out. at 18 mos she should be old enough for some gentle discipline. HTH

LOL I was just at a friends house and her 9 month old daughter kept doing this. We were just talking about why they would even want to do that. It reminded me of a couple of my children. They did that too. My last one who is almost two did it around 18 months too. It wasn't for attention. She would do it even if we weren't in the room. Maybe it is a different sensation? No idea! lol
