    Question FT/PT question

What is consider full time? I have been looking for childcare and am a little confused. I am looking for someone from 9 to around 3, so I can drop off and pick up my oldest from school but I have had providers saying they only have a full time spot.

    Thank you

I am not asking anyone here for a spot.

For centre based daycare that would be FT. Part time would be open to 11:30 without lunch (12 with) or 1 - close without lunch, 11:30 with lunch. I may be off a little on the timing. I would say you are asking for close to the equivalent of a FT spot, therefore would need to pay for a FT spot.

Sound like full time to me. When dd 2 went to a home daycare. she was there 9-1 I paid part time rates. When she stayed till 3- 3:30 I paid full time rates.
Your life is a result of the choices you make, if you don't like your life it's time to start making better choices.

I am willing to pay for FT and I thought that was what I was asking for.

    Thanks

Those were my hours for daycare.
Both my provider and I considered my youngest DS to be full time.
However, when she raised her rates for full time care, she didn't raise mine, because she had a child who needed before / after school care and she was able to use the same spot.
Of course - this was all done on the assumption that I could NEVER be late picking up my DS, and if I needed extended care (say if I had to go into work early) it was all dependant on how many before / after school kids she had on that particular day.. there were mornings I was simply out of luck.
