Your life is a result of the choices you make, if you don't like your life it's time to start making better choices.

Thank you ladies. It's such a different situation. He lived in Orlando and didn't want any services at all. No funeral, no memorial, no nothing. My sister is there right now, and as per his wishes, his eyes were donated to someone in need and he will now be cremated and his ashes spread at his favourite spot on the Gulf coast. Normally there are visitations and funerals and all that kind of thing to deal with but I'm so far away (he didn't want anyone to go there in his final days) and there are no services to prepare for. On one hand it's easier but it just seems like life just carries on in the world around me while I'm stuck in limbo not feeling like doing anything. :/

I truly believe funerals and such are for the living. It helps us grieve. Its a huge moment in your life and without a way to finalize it it can seem unreal. When my dad passed we only had a gathering and I felt like it wasn't enough. Maybe it never seems like enough.

    My thoughts are with you.
...and in that moment I swear we were infinite.

I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know how religious you are, but it may help to visit a church or even a cemetary or go somewhere you think he would have liked around here and just think, and talk to him to say good bye. Find your closure and your peace.

    Thinking of you.

Not sure if you have much family, etc. around but I agree with the PP that memorials, etc. are for the living. They help us keep going after we've lost someone we love. If you think you could, I'd try to pull together a little get-together just to share memories, make some of his favourite foods to share..... what he doesn't know won't hurt him and I'm quite sure he'd understand.

You've been on my mind a lot....... your dd sounds like the sweetest and most thoughtful little girl.
