Default has anyone ever redone seat cushions?

We have a set of dining chairs that I'd like to re-upholster. Any tips/suggestions? I *think* it is a matter of stapling the new fabric around to the back, and that's pretty much it???

We did ours and it was very simple and I suck at things like this. I had DH hold the fabric taut and I stapled it. Folded the corners in and around neatly like wrapping a gift and stapled those too. Only tip I have is that we took one seat cover in with us to the store when we got the material and then laid it out on the fabric to make sure we had enough fabric for 6.

It might be worthwhile adding some new padding as well while you're at it.

All of the above as well as: make sure you pull the fabric as tight as possible. We thought we had when we did ours but after a while there were puckers of fabric on the seat. It really isn't that difficult and can make a huge difference. Have fun!

yup its easy, with a good staple gun you should be ready to roll.

just make sure your staples are long enough to go through the layers, but not so long they stick out in places..when i did my chair backs i had a few i had to trim off with wire snips.. and a couple holes int he coffee table from stapleing through! oops!

I am totally thinking I can do this.
Has anyone tried it with fake leather?
