    Default Scare in White oaks

My 12 yr old son was walking home from white oaks PS yesterday and went through a gate in the fence behind the brown office building that faces Ernest.
I think there is a eye glass place there called Dela Cruz?? there is a pharmacy in this building also. (closest intersection is Bradley and Ernest)
The building is south of a complex that faces Food Basics.

Anyway, as he was cutting through he was grabbed by a guy (kid?) wearing a drk grey/black hooded sweater and was threatened with a knife. All the person said to him was "Im going to kill you"

Luckily my son has some karate backgroud and was able to get out of the persons grasp, but not before getting nicked in the hand by this animals blade.

If you saw ANYTHING at about 3:20pm in this area can you please PM me? My son was wearing a mostly orange with some black winter coat/black back pack and as I already said, the perp was wearing a black hoody.

The police have been called and white oaks PS is aware of the situation.

I didn't see anything, we are in that area often. Your poor DS must have been so scared.

OMG Wuzzy. How scary for your son. I am so glad that he is okay. I let dd walk home from school alone, well, with a friend. I think tomorrow, I will accompany her and maybe go over the "rules" again. I hope they catch this guy. Once again, glad that your son is okay.

    OMG Wuzzy

I am so sorry to hear this happened to your son. But, thank God he had the Karate background and was able to keep his senses about him. You must be so proud of him.

    Are you o.k?

I hope they catch the bast---!

Other than the absolute rage we feel that this kind of unprovoked violence occurs. We are doing ok. Of course my son is shaken and will not be taking any short-cuts home anymore.

The unfortunate part of this is that it is likely the animal wont be caught. Without witnesses, and such an undiscript description, this person is still out there.
Just be sure to let your kids know that walking in pairs, and staying on a well used route is always in their best interest.
MOst important, when something like this does occur ALWAYS report it.
